Mechanical Packer

Mechanical Packer – For drilling and injection applications

The upper packer is used as a seal when carrying out grouting in fractured rock or conducting water pressure tests. The packer is positioned just below the surface and mechanically expanded by pressing a rubber sleeve against the wall of the borehole.

The central body is hollow, allowing water or grout to be pumped into the borehole, as well as enabling various borehole monitoring operations.

The Mechanical Packer operates by turning the handle on the upper nut, thereby compressing a highly elastic rubber tube between two steel plates. The rubber should be pre-tensioned so that its diameter is slightly smaller than the borehole diameter, and then tightened by turning the handle after the packer has been positioned.

These packers are manufactured in various diameters according to customer requirements and are normally available within 7 days of order confirmation. The customer should specify the borehole diameter, body length, and rubber section length as required.
